Finalist in the Fisher's Ghost Art Prize

Really delighted that my work Abuela is a finalist in the traditional category of the Fisher’s Ghost Art Award at Campbelltown Art Centre.

“At 99, Abuela, a matriarch of a family of women, has spent a life dedicated to caring for others. From the Uruguayan countryside, now on the Central Coast of Australia, I wanted to capture a quick portrait of her and her space before she transitions to a care home for dementia.

Abuela’s bedside table is a perfect vignette that captures all that is important in her life. Photos collected over decades, including one of her own Mother, prayer beads, Mary and Lourdes, a rose from her garden and more practical items of sunscreen, heel balm and a bottle of water. It encapsulates spiritual, mental and physical care of her self, as well as her private prayers for others in one location.”

The Fisher’s Ghost Art Award is one of my favourite exhibitions, with a huge quantity of works that are reflective of the varied art practices taking place in Australia right now. If you can drop in, please do! It runs from the 26 September to the 4 November 2026.
